Job Description
The Maintenance Technician performs both preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on a wide range of mechanical systems in a production and manufacturing environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting issues, performing corrective maintenance, and supporting the fabrication and installation of new equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
- Work with motors, engines, large tanks, valves, pumps, plumbing, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues on equipment such as mixers, conveyors, packagers, belts, and drives, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Repair and maintain mechanical systems including motors, pumps, valves, tanks, and related components in a manufacturing setting.
- Assist with fabrication and installation of new equipment and modifications to existing machinery as needed.
- Use basic automation and control knowledge to support equipment performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work orders and ensure equipment is safe and ready for operation.
- Document maintenance activities and repairs to support equipment history and continuous improvement.
- Follow all safety guidelines and plant procedures while working with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including motors, pumps, valves, tanks, mixers, conveyors, packagers, belts, and drives.
- Hands-on experience performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on industrial equipment.
- Ability to work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems in a plant environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to diagnosing equipment issues.
- Comfort working with plumbing and fluid-handling systems in a manufacturing facility.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a facility that handles liquids, such as beverage manufacturing or other liquid-processing plants.
- Any exposure to PLCs or automation systems used in manufacturing.
- Basic electrical maintenance experience related to industrial equipment.
- Experience as a maintenance technician in a high-volume production setting.
- Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics beyond basic operation and repair.
- Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance programs and contribute to reliability improvements.

Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing plant with a strong team-oriented culture where employees are encouraged to take on varied responsibilities regardless of title. The environment involves working around production equipment, mechanical systems, and liquid-processing operations. The standard shift is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering a consistent daytime schedule. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Goodyear, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
