We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to support financial operations for a Contract position based in Little Rock, Arkansas. This role is ideal for an accounting specialist with strong attention to detail who can help maintain accurate reporting, oversee core close activities, and contribute to audit readiness. The position requires strong command of general ledger management, financial reporting, and compliance-focused accounting practices in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead recurring close activities by preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure timely and accurate period-end results.
• Oversee general ledger accuracy by monitoring account activity, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining strong accounting controls across reporting cycles.
• Prepare internal and external financial reports that present clear, reliable information for leadership, stakeholders, and compliance needs.
• Coordinate audit support by organizing documentation, responding to auditor requests, and helping ensure financial statement reviews proceed efficiently.
• Apply government contracting and DCAA-related accounting knowledge to support compliance with applicable regulations and documentation standards.
• Analyze financial data and account balances to identify unusual trends, explain variances, and recommend corrective action when needed.
• Partner with finance and operational teams to improve reporting processes, strengthen consistency, and support overall accounting performance.
• Assist with maintaining policies, procedures, and records that reinforce sound financial governance and readiness for review.• Demonstrated experience supporting or leading month-end close activities in a corporate or contract-based accounting environment.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger structure, account reconciliations, and financial reporting practices.
• Experience assisting with financial statement audits and preparing documentation for internal or external review.
• Familiarity with DCAA requirements and accounting expectations within regulated or government contract settings.
• Ability to interpret financial information accurately and communicate findings clearly to business partners and leadership.
• High attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
• Proficiency with standard accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for analysis, reporting, and documentation.
