Job Description

The Warehouse Specialist plays a key role in a fast-paced distribution environment, supporting day-to-day warehouse operations. This position focuses on accurate order handling, safe material movement, and consistent quality control to ensure products are prepared and shipped correctly and on time.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
  • Pick orders accurately and prepare products through wrapping, packing, labeling, and shipping.
  • Clean and maintain the work area to ensure a safe and organized warehouse environment.
  • Move waste from the assembly line to dumpsters in a timely and safe manner.
  • Operate sit-down and stand-up reach forklifts, using active certification if available.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure no damaged product is sent out.
  • Package finished products for shipping, including shrink wrapping, boxing, and labeling.
  • Stage finished products for loading and prepare them for outbound shipments.
  • Load finished products onto trucks according to shipping schedules and instructions.
  • Stock inventory in the proper locations to maintain accurate and organized storage.
  • Execute assigned special project tasks such as product assembly, kitting, labeling, and packaging.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and accurate production and handling.
  • Verify SKU, quantity, and component accuracy against project documentation or Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Identify and report damaged or incorrect materials to the Warehouse Supervisor promptly.
  • Assist with quality control checks to ensure finished products meet project specifications.
  • Accurately follow instructions for day-to-day warehouse operations.
  • Consistently meet deadlines and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Multi-task throughout the day while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Troubleshoot basic operational issues and determine when and to whom issues should be escalated.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to support smooth warehouse operations.

  • Ability to accurately follow instructions for daily warehouse operations.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines and time restraints.
  • Capability to multi-task throughout the day while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills to identify problems and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and supervisors.
  • Excellent work ethic with a reliable and responsible approach to assigned tasks.
  • Career-oriented, self-starter attitude with the ability to work proactively.
  • At least one year of previous warehouse or stockroom experience.
  • Ability to operate sit-down and stand-up reach forklifts; active forklift certification is preferred.
  • Experience with inventory handling, picking, packing, and material handling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is a plus.
  • Experience in quality control processes within a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
  • Attention to detail when verifying SKUs, quantities, and components against documentation or Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adapt to established workflows.
  • Experience with product assembly, kitting, labeling, and packaging for special projects.

Work Environment

This role is based in a small warehouse setting with a team of approximately six employees, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, involving regular use of material handling equipment such as sit-down and stand-up reach forklifts. Work is primarily performed on the warehouse floor, focusing on inventory handling, picking, packing, and shipping activities, with an emphasis on maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
