Framing Carpenter
Job Description
Work in a modern, indoor truss plant in Brandon, SD, assembling floor and wall trusses in a brand-new facility. This is a physically active role that involves standing and walking for up to 10 hours per day, using basic hand and power tools, and performing repetitive tasks with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Responsibilities- Build floor and wall trusses according to specifications and production schedules.
- Read and interpret tape measurements to ensure precise cuts and assembly.
- Use hand tools such as hammers and measuring tapes safely and efficiently.
- Operate basic power tools and equipment involved in truss assembly.
- Follow established construction and carpentry methods to frame and assemble components.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks.
- Stand, walk, and work on your feet for extended periods, up to 10 hours per day.
- Follow all safety procedures and use tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Previous carpentry or construction experience required.
- Wall framing experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and apply measurements to construction tasks.
- Proficiency using hand tools such as hammers and measuring tapes.
- Comfort and experience working with basic power tools.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing and walking for up to 10 hours per day.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent quality.
- Experience in truss assembly or similar production construction environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with general construction practices and building materials.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Willingness to work additional voluntary hours on Fridays and Saturdays when available.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a brand-new indoor truss plant facility in Brandon, SD, providing a clean and modern production environment. The standard schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on a mandatory basis, with additional voluntary hours available on Fridays and Saturdays. The work involves being on your feet for most of the shift, with frequent standing, walking, and manual tool use. Leadership maintains an open, hands-on approach, including regular one-on-one discussions to address concerns, provide feedback, and ensure team members feel heard and supported. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brandon, SD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
