Job Description

Join a fast-paced production environment fabricating custom aluminum cable trays used in manufacturing facilities and warehouses. You will perform MIG welding and fabrication work to build straight trays tailored to specific customer requirements, working closely with the welding team to meet quality and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform production welding on aluminum cable trays, ensuring strong, clean, and consistent welds.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate welding machines and related equipment within the welding department.
  • Use basic fabricating tools, such as tape measures, to accurately measure materials and components.
  • Interpret drawings and blueprints and fabricate trays according to detailed customer specifications.
  • Fabricate components to meet customer requirements while adhering to established quality standards and tolerances.
  • Follow established processes and work instructions to maintain efficiency in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Collaborate with the Welding Supervisor and team members to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area, following all safety guidelines and reporting any issues or concerns.
  • Participate in overtime opportunities as needed to support production demands.

Essential Skills

  • 1–2 years of MIG welding experience or formal welding schooling.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding techniques, particularly on aluminum components.
  • Experience with steel welding in a production or fabrication environment.
  • Hands-on fabrication experience, including cutting, fitting, and assembling metal parts.
  • Ability to perform tack welding to prepare and position components for final welds.
  • Ability to accurately use basic fabricating tools, such as tape measures, for precise measurements.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints for fabrication work.
  • Comfort working in a loud, fast-paced production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience fabricating cable trays or similar industrial products.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a somewhat disorganized environment.
  • Interest in cross-training in other departments and learning leadership skills.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift (4:00 PM – 12:30 AM, Monday–Friday) and occasional mandatory Saturdays.
  • Availability to work up to 2 hours of overtime per shift when needed.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled production facility that is loud, fast paced, and can be somewhat disorganized at times. You will work primarily on 2nd shift from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with one mandatory Saturday per month and up to 2 hours of overtime available each shift. A shift differential is offered for 2nd shift work. The environment is focused on meeting production goals while handling custom fabrication work, and you will regularly use welding machines, fabrication tools, and measuring equipment in a busy shop setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cartersville, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
