Job Description

The Superintendent independently supervises an area of trade contractors with work valued up to $30M. This individual is responsible for the day-to-day field coordination of trade partners to ensure high-quality work that aligns with project schedules and contract documents.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate work plans.
  • Maintain project documentation.
  • Manage schedules and logistics.
  • Oversee quality control.
  • Act as the primary safety representative on site.
  • Lead contractor meetings, daily huddles, and pre-task planning.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safety-first work environment.
  • Support constructability reviews, change management, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Conduct inspections and mentor less experienced field staff.

Essential Skills

  • 4–8+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects valued $15M–$30M+.
  • Strong field supervision experience managing multiple trade partners and subcontractors.
  • Proven ability to manage jobsite safety, quality, schedule, and logistics.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to lead subcontractor meetings and daily huddles.
  • Proficiency with construction documentation, drawings, and scheduling software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (bonus).
  • STS-C certification (bonus; sponsorship available if not currently held).
  • Experience delivering projects in sectors such as Higher Education, Healthcare, Institutional, and K–12.

Work Environment

This is a salaried role based on-site at active commercial construction projects. The work environment is fast-paced and collaborative, involving close work with Project Managers, Field Engineers, trade partners, owners, and inspectors. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $120000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
