Company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Preconstruction Engineer to
join our team for the Intel Campus project in San Jose, California.
This role offers a unique
opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project in the heart of Silicon
Valley, working alongside industry leaders in construction and technology.
Responsibilities:
Project Records Management: Set up
and maintain preconstruction project records, ensuring all documentation is
accurate and up-to-date.
Subcontractor Solicitations:
Identify and solicit subcontractors for various preconstruction pursuits,
ensuring adequate coverage in each scope of work.
Scope Estimating: Perform detailed quantity
take-offs and scope estimating for assigned projects.
Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed bid scopes
for trade packages and assist with subcontractor buyout.
RFI Management: Prepare, track,
submit, and distribute preconstruction Requests for Information (RFIs) to
resolve design conflicts and clarify project details.
Client Relations: Maintain strong
relationships with clients, ensuring their requirements and expectations are
met throughout the preconstruction phase.
Team Collaboration: Work closely
with the Division Manager, Estimator, Project Manager, and other operations
staff to support preconstruction pursuits.
Post-Submittal Efforts: Organize
final estimate notebooks, maintain pursuit documents, and notify subcontractors
of pursuit outcomes.
Safety and Quality: Champion Gilbane’s safety
culture and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards on all
preconstruction activities.
Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in preconstruction or project
engineering, preferably in the construction industry. Skills: Strong
organizational and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication
skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and
preconstruction software (e.g., ProCore, Tekla, On-Screen Take-off). Ability to
work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Attention to detail and a keen
eye for accuracy. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with large-scale
construction projects. Familiarity with the semiconductor industry. Knowledge
of construction management at-risk (CMAR) and design-build delivery methods
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
