Job Description
This role supports Project Managers in the planning, execution, and closeout of complex electrical construction projects, with a focus on mission-critical and data center environments. You help drive project success by coordinating schedules, budgets, documentation, and communication between office and field teams, while contributing to quality, safety, and on-time delivery. The position offers hands-on exposure to technically advanced electrical projects and a clearly defined career path into Project Management and Operations leadership.
Responsibilities- Support Project Managers in the planning, execution, and closeout of electrical construction projects, particularly within mission-critical and data center environments.
- Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and progress reports to ensure projects remain on time and within budget.
- Coordinate material procurement, delivery schedules, and vendor communications to ensure timely availability of equipment and materials.
- Manage submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, meeting minutes, and other project documentation with accuracy and completeness.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Track project costs, financial commitments, and productivity metrics to support effective cost control and reporting.
- Coordinate with field leadership and site teams to ensure project milestones are achieved safely, efficiently, and according to plan.
- Participate in owner, contractor, and project coordination meetings, providing updates and contributing to issue resolution.
- Assist with commissioning activities, turnover documentation, and project closeout processes to ensure smooth handover to the client.
- Monitor and support quality control initiatives, helping to verify that work meets project standards and specifications.
- Support safety initiatives by reinforcing safety practices and helping ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate project records and reporting within project management systems and tools.
- Help identify potential project issues early and work with the team to resolve them before they impact schedule or budget.
- 1–5 years of experience in construction project engineering, project coordination, or assistant project management within commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or mission-critical construction projects preferred.
- Demonstrated project management and construction management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and documentation control.
- Basic understanding of electrical construction practices, systems, and terminology.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, field leadership, vendors, and clients.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience supporting electrical contractors or electrical construction projects.
- Data center, mission-critical, or industrial project experience.
- Familiarity with construction and project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
- Office or field experience within commercial construction environments.
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain.
- Interest in developing technical, financial, and leadership skills with a goal of progressing into Project Manager and Senior Project Manager roles.
This position supports projects in commercial, industrial, and mission-critical environments, including data centers and other technically advanced electrical facilities. You primarily work in a professional office setting with regular collaboration with field teams and visits to active construction sites. You must be able to travel to project sites as needed, with travel requirements varying based on project assignment and location, and be willing to temporarily relocate for major project assignments if required. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Philadelphia, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
