We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer / Assistant Superintendent to support commercial construction projects with a strong focus on quality, safety, and efficient labor management. In this role, you direct on-site labor forces, monitor and document construction quality, and collaborate closely with the project team to ensure work meets high building standards. You use Procore and BIM 360 to track quality and safety issues and communicate effectively with a diverse, bilingual workforce to keep daily tasks on schedule and aligned with project goals.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and oversee on-site labor forces to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and standards.
  • Identify, monitor, and communicate quality issues related to wallpaper, paint, drywall, trim, and flooring, ensuring all finishes meet established building standards.
  • Utilize Procore and BIM 360 to document, track, and report quality and safety issues, maintaining accurate and up-to-date project records.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to ensure construction activities align with overall project goals and schedules.
  • Coordinate daily construction tasks, assign responsibilities, and follow up to ensure work is completed on time and to the required quality.
  • Support construction quality control processes by inspecting work, verifying compliance with specifications, and initiating corrective actions when needed.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with English and second-language-speaking team members to ensure instructions, expectations, and feedback are understood.
  • Promote safety compliance on-site by reinforcing safety protocols and helping to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Assist with project coordination activities in commercial construction environments, including hotels and theme park-related facilities.
  • Contribute to a team-oriented culture by performing your core duties and stepping in to help wherever needed to support project success.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in construction quality control or a similar role within commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, building standards, and quality control practices for finishes such as wallpaper, paint, drywall, trim, and flooring.
  • Proficiency with Procore for project documentation, quality tracking, and safety reporting.
  • Proficiency with BIM 360 for managing construction information and documenting field conditions.
  • Demonstrated project management and project coordination skills in a construction setting.
  • Experience in labor management, including directing and overseeing on-site crews.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey instructions and feedback clearly to diverse teams.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to take ownership of tasks and ensure they are completed efficiently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a bilingual environment, with bilingual (English and a second language) capability considered a significant advantage.
  • Strong focus on safety compliance and adherence to construction safety standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in commercial construction projects, including hotels, theme parks, and similar facilities.
  • Background in construction management or related field, with exposure to building standards and quality assurance.
  • Ability to thrive in a family-oriented, team-focused culture where everyone wears multiple hats.
  • Willingness to assist beyond core responsibilities to support overall project success.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with field crews and project stakeholders.
Work Environment

This role is primarily field-based, working on commercial hotel projects within a large theme park resort environment. You spend most of your time on-site, actively overseeing crews and inspecting work in guest-focused facilities. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and highly team-oriented, where everyone contributes beyond their core role when needed. You regularly use technology such as Procore and BIM 360 on laptops, tablets, or mobile devices to document quality and safety in real time. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $37.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
