Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk ensures the accurate and timely movement of goods in and out of the facility by pulling, packing, and shipping customer orders, processing inbound shipments, verifying inventory, and maintaining organized storage areas using RF scanning and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Pull, pack, and ship customer orders accurately and on time to meet service and delivery expectations.
• Prepare freight shipments, ensuring all packages are properly labeled and accompanied by correct documentation.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks, including handling customer pick-up orders safely and efficiently.
• Process daily inbound shipments received via small package carriers, LTL freight, and trucks.
• Verify the accuracy of received items against purchase orders and inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies.
• Handle customer returns in a timely and organized manner, following established procedures.
• Maintain organized RGA (Return Goods Authorization) shelves to ensure items are easy to locate and track.
• Process vendor claims promptly and accurately, documenting issues and coordinating returns as needed.
• Assign bin locations for incoming stock to maximize space utilization and inventory accessibility.
• Put away stock efficiently using RF scan guns and inventory systems to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Support general inventory control activities to help maintain correct stock levels and product locations.
• Collaborate with team members and follow established shipping, receiving, and safety procedures.

Essential Skills

• Experience in shipping and receiving operations, including handling inbound and outbound shipments.
• Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures.
• Ability to accurately select and process customer orders.
• Proficiency using RF scan guns or similar handheld scanning devices.
• Ability to work with inventory systems to update and track stock levels.
• Strong attention to detail when verifying shipments against purchase orders and documentation.
• Ability to safely assist with loading and unloading trucks and customer pick-up orders.
• Organizational skills to maintain orderly storage areas, including RGA shelves.
• Basic documentation and recordkeeping skills for freight shipments and vendor claims.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment, where temperatures can vary with the seasons. Work involves regular movement throughout the facility, handling packages, assisting with truck loading and unloading, and using RF scan guns and inventory systems. The position requires comfort with physical tasks and working in an active, operational setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sarasota, FL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
