This Senior Structural Engineer role offers the opportunity to help lead a growing structural engineering team, shape its processes, and contribute to complex structural, architectural, and mechanical design projects. The position focuses on delivering high-quality design solutions, guiding project execution, and using tools such as Revit and AutoCAD to support a wide range of structural systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of structural engineers and actively contribute to building and shaping the engineering group.
  • Provide technical guidance on structural design for concrete, steel, and wood systems across structural, architectural, and mechanical projects.
  • Review RFIs and shop drawings to ensure design intent, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Resolve field issues by collaborating with project stakeholders and providing practical, timely engineering solutions.
  • Prepare proposals, including scope definition and technical input, to support new business opportunities.
  • Manage projects using structural engineering tools and methodologies, including Revit and AutoCAD, to deliver accurate and coordinated design documents.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners, proactively working to overcome language barriers and ensure clarity.
  • Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel to support project documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Support and participate in performance-based initiatives that contribute to team success and company growth.
Essential Skills
  • 6–10 years of experience as a structural engineer, with exposure to structural, architectural, or mechanical design.
  • Proficiency in Revit for structural design and documentation.
  • Experience with structural engineering principles and practice, including concrete, steel, and wood structural systems.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of structural engineers while contributing to project delivery.
  • Strong skills in reviewing RFIs and shop drawings and resolving field-related technical issues.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD for design and drafting tasks.
  • Project management experience within an engineering environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a willingness to work through and overcome language barriers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical, Drafting, or a closely related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
  • Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals for engineering projects.
  • Strong grasp of structural systems, including concrete, steel, and wood, and their application in building design.
  • Interest in contributing to and benefiting from profit-sharing and performance-based bonus programs.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, supported by professional licensing reimbursement.
Work Environment

The role is based in a smaller, close-knit company of approximately 22 people, offering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. You will work alongside about five other engineers, three of whom serve as project managers, allowing for direct interaction with decision-makers and project leads. The environment emphasizes flexibility, including a flexible schedule on Mondays and Fridays, and encourages active participation in shaping the engineering team and its culture. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $55.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
