Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Shipping Clerk to join our team at a leading company specializing in the design and manufacture of advanced fuel systems. Our focus is on manufacturing CNG fuel storage systems and tanks for trucks and big rigs. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of shipping and inventory management.

1st shift -

Pay: $20 - $23/hr

1st Shift Monday to Friday 6am-2:30pm will most likely start at 5 to help with OT

OT is mandatory and may result in 12 hour days and include Saturdays

Responsibilities

  • Receive materials and process transactions in the ERP system.
  • Pull parts for production work orders and customer shipments.
  • Package and crate parts to prevent shipping damage.
  • Create packing lists and shipping documentation.
  • Schedule carrier pickups (UPS, FedEx, freight, etc.).
  • Ship products and maintain accurate shipping and receiving records.
  • Organize inventory and maintain warehouse organization using FIFO.
  • Perform inventory transactions and cycle counts.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Close production work orders and send Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse.

Essential Skills

  • 1.5+ years of experience in shipping.
  • Proficiency with inventory and ERP systems.
  • Experience in material handling and order pulling.
  • Familiarity with RF scanners, FedEx, and inventory control.
  • Competence in data entry and computer skills.
  • Experience with SAP, cycle counts, order picking, and labeling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory control preferred.
  • Experience with UPS and FedEx shipping systems.
  • ERP experience preferred.
  • Experience with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation.

Work Environment

The work environment is a very clean and large manufacturing facility with multiple machines running, providing a comfortable setting. The role requires working the first shift from Monday to Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm, with possible early starts at 5 am to accommodate overtime needs. Overtime is mandatory and may result in 12-hour days, including Saturdays. Steel-toed boots are necessary for this position.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
