Job Description
As a Project Manager, you will manage HVAC/mechanical construction projects across multifamily, senior living, commercial, retail, and educational facilities. You will oversee project budgets, billing processes, and labor hour tracking, ensuring that all project milestones are met. You will coordinate HVAC equipment installation, manage equipment procurement, and maintain schedule commitments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee project budgets, billing processes, and labor hour tracking.
- Coordinate HVAC equipment installation and ensure project milestones are met.
- Manage equipment procurement and material releases to maintain schedule commitments.
- Review and process equipment submittals, cut sheets, and approval documentation.
- Purchase and buy out project materials while maintaining budget objectives.
- Attend project meetings with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Conduct regular job site visits to monitor progress, quality, and project execution.
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive projects from award through completion, ensuring schedule, budget, and client expectations are achieved.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the HVAC industry.
- Experience managing projects ranging from $20K-$6M.
- Proficiency in project managing HVAC design-build projects.
- Experience with Trimble Spectrum or any other ERP System.
- Technical skills including Excel, email, and DropBox.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Tech savvy with strong organizational skills.
- Degree not required.
- Experience in multifamily, school, retail, and commercial projects.
Work Environment
The role is based in the Aurora office, with working hours from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday. Weekend work is rare and only required if significantly behind schedule. The role involves occasional visits to job sites in the greater Chicago area. The office has a family atmosphere, valuing loyalty with a low turnover rate. The team consists of 60-100 employees, including 2 Project Managers, a General Manager, and other specialized roles. The office dress code is business casual.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.46 - $62.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
