We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Director to lead the full people strategy for our client in Waverly, Nebraska. This role will shape hiring, employee support, total rewards, compliance, and talent development while partnering closely with company leadership to strengthen organizational capability. The ideal candidate brings both strategic perspective and hands-on leadership, with the ability to improve HR operations and build a strong, high-performing team.


Responsibilities:

• Direct the company’s human resources function across recruiting, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, performance programs, training, compliance, and workforce planning.

• Lead, coach, and develop the HR team to elevate service delivery, strengthen accountability, and support long-term departmental growth.

• Create and carry out a talent acquisition strategy designed to attract candidates with relevant experience and improve retention across the business.

• Work closely with senior leaders to evaluate current talent, identify capability gaps, and recommend actions that strengthen the organization.

• Oversee HRIS-related initiatives, including implementation, optimization, and ongoing system management to support efficient people operations.

• Guide payroll system implementation efforts or major payroll process enhancements to improve accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness.

• Advance HR process improvements by refining workflows, enhancing reporting, and increasing operational efficiency across the function.

• Advise leaders and managers on employee relations matters, performance concerns, and leadership development opportunities.

• Ensure HR policies and practices align with applicable employment laws, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.

• Proven experience leading a broad human resources function, ideally in a director-level role within a fast-paced business environment.
• Strong knowledge of employee relations, compensation and benefits, HR administration, and employment law compliance.
• Experience with HRIS implementation, system optimization, or related HR technology initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams while partnering effectively with executive leadership.
• Background in performance management, leadership development, and organizational talent planning.
• Analytical skills with the ability to support compensation analysis, interpret HR data, and improve reporting processes.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a track record of driving growth and operational improvement initiatives.
