As a General Laborer, you will play a crucial role in the construction process, focusing on a variety of tasks related to walls, roofs, tape and texture, and quality assurance. Your work will contribute to building and finishing high-quality residential units.


Responsibilities
  • Frame interior and exterior walls and insulate as necessary.
  • Glue and staple drywall; lift it off the table and install on floors.
  • Set cabinets in place and hook up all plumbing.
  • Cut and press roof trusses, lay out drywall on tables, and load rafters.
  • Alpha seal trusses to drywall and lift them with a crane to the appropriate location.
  • Mud seams, apply vapor barriers, lift roof, and set on roof decking and roofing paper.
  • Install windows, doors, and trim all openings, corners, soffits, and fascia.
  • Install shingles and vents on roofs and paint the exterior of the house.
  • Tape and mud all corners and joints, cover cabinets and appliances with plastic.
  • Spray texture on walls, paint interiors, and perform cleanup duties.
  • Inspect houses during all phases of construction to ensure quality.
  • Monitor quality processes and inspect homes at the end of construction.
  • Load any loose materials needed and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Measure the width and height of units and ensure all tags are placed on units.

Essential Skills
  • Proficiency with construction tools including power tools and hand tools.
  • Experience with carpentry, drywall, concrete, painting, and trim carpentry.
  • Ability to use a tape measure accurately and efficiently.
  • Skills in roofing, texture application, and mudding.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Experience using a tape measure is mandatory and will be tested.
  • Familiarity with wall paneling and tape gun usage.
  • Previous construction, framing, drywall, roofing, or manufacturing experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The current manufacturing site is fully shaded but can be dusty, dirty, and hot. However, a move to a new manufacturing facility is planned for April 2027. This new facility will provide a better working environment, ensuring a more comfortable and efficient workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Goodyear, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
