Job Description
This role focuses on fabricating and building tank wash systems, including welding structural components and assembling pumps and related mechanical equipment. You will use MIG welding techniques to construct and assemble wash tank systems, applying strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail to ensure high-quality, reliable installations.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and build tank wash systems from raw materials and components, following blueprints and specifications.
- Perform MIG welding on structural elements, stainless steel parts, and pipe assemblies to create durable wash tank systems.
- Assemble pumps and related mechanical components as part of complete tank wash system builds.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions, materials, and welding requirements.
- Carry out welding, fitting, and pipe welding tasks to ensure proper alignment, fit-up, and structural integrity.
- Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and adherence to safety and performance standards.
- Collaborate with a small fabrication team to coordinate workflow, share tools and equipment, and meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a hands-on fabrication shop environment.
- Troubleshoot and adjust fabrication and welding processes as needed to resolve issues and improve build quality.
Essential Skills
- 2–4 years of MIG welding experience, including work with structural components and stainless steel.
- 2–3 years of fabrication experience in a shop or industrial environment.
- 2+ years of blueprint reading experience for fabrication and welding projects.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, including setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
- Experience with pipe welding and fitting for mechanical and wash tank systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to assemble pumps and related mechanical systems.
- Ability to work from technical drawings and instructions with accuracy and attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with TIG welding is a plus.
- Additional pipe welding experience is beneficial.
- Comfort working in a hands-on fabrication shop environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.

Work Environment
The schedule is a first-shift role, typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing regular daytime hours. The setting emphasizes practical, shop-floor work with welding and fabrication equipment, collaborative teamwork, and a focus on safety and productivity.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
