We are seeking a skilled and experienced Interior Designer with a degree in architecture and over 5 years of professional experience. The role involves the creation and coordination of project designs and plans across all phases. Candidates will also be responsible for preparing presentation and design drawings, attending meetings, and coordinating internally and externally. The role also entails preparing project scopes, fee proposals, and ensuring all necessary contracts and proposals are signed. The ideal candidate will complete project designs and deliverables within budgeted hours and schedule, while addressing any change of service requests promptly.

Responsibilities
  • Create and coordinate project designs and plans for all project phases.
  • Monitor drawings throughout the design process.
  • Prepare presentation and design drawings.
  • Attend meetings and coordinate with internal and external teams.
  • Prepare project scope and fee proposals.
  • Ensure project numbers are assigned and contracts are signed.
  • Complete project designs and deliverables within budgeted hours and schedule.
  • Verify project status and address any issues related to time vs. budget.
  • Promptly address and issue change of service requests from staff and consultants.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience in project planning, design, construction documentation, and coordination.
  • Experience in commercial projects in retail, industrial, or multifamily sectors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
  • On the path to Licensure is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Sketch-Up, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
Work Environment

The work environment offers flexibility, with the option to work from a newly renovated office in Glen Burnie or from home if needed. The office is a mix of architecture and MEP, handling diverse projects such as retail centers, offices, educational, institutional, and medical/healthcare. The team enjoys a competitive market salary with annual bonuses and pension plans for direct hires. The company encourages a vibrant atmosphere with weekly happy hours and team outings. Employees work an average of 80 hours over two weeks, with some weeks longer than others. The office is small with 13 people, promoting a close-knit team environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glen Burnie, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $52.88/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
