Job Title: Mech & Robotics Technician

Job Description

As a Mech & Robotics Technician, you will utilize your expertise to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. Additionally, you will develop your skills and mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship across all the facility's operations.
  • Track and store department inventory.
  • Move up to 49 lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Possible travel up to 20% at a minimum.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • 1 year of experience in PC competency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • 2 years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • 2 years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment.
  • 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • 1 year of metal and wood fabrication.
  • 1 year of blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
  • 1 year of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.
  • Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.

Work Environment

The role involves repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking. You will lift parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally up to 49 pounds. Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet, foot pedals, manual picking, pinching, holding, grasping, and wrist motion is required, along with repetitive flexion/rotation. Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures inside/outside, noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces.

This is a Contract position based out of Nampa, ID.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.70 - $25.70/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
