Job Description
We are looking for a Cable Technician to support a contract assignment in San Bruno, California. This position focuses on building and assembling custom cable harnesses with multiple connection points, requiring hands-on precision and a strong understanding of structured cabling methods. The ideal candidate brings practical experience with complex harness fabrication, testing, and installation in low-voltage and fiber-optic environments. This is a Contract position.
Responsibilities:
• Build custom cable harness assemblies with approximately 10 to 20 endpoints while maintaining accuracy and consistency throughout the process.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions to assemble harnesses that meet technical and quality specifications.
• Perform cable routing, termination, labeling, and connector installation for low-voltage and fiber-optic applications.
• Inspect completed assemblies and conduct continuity or functional testing to confirm proper performance and reliable connections.
• Troubleshoot wiring issues, identify defects, and make corrections to ensure finished harnesses meet production standards.
• Maintain an organized work area and handle tools and materials in accordance with safety and quality procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete assigned builds on schedule and resolve technical assembly challenges.• At least 2 years of experience in cable assembly, cable installation, or related technician work.
• Demonstrated ability to manufacture custom cable harnesses beyond basic point-to-point cabling tasks.
• Experience working with harness builds that include multiple endpoints and complex routing requirements.
• Familiarity with low-voltage cabling practices, connector termination, and cable management techniques.
• Working knowledge of fiber-optic cabling and standard testing methods is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation.
• Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
