Job Title: CDL Local Driver

Job Description

The CDL Driver transports materials between four manufacturing locations while supporting warehouse operations. This role includes driving a box truck, assisting with loading and unloading, performing material handling tasks, and using a sit-down forklift and handheld scanner to move and track product within a busy manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a box truck safely and efficiently between two manufacturing facilities.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials from the truck at both locations.
  • Perform material handling duties, including moving, staging, and organizing product in the warehouse.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift to move product throughout the facility.
  • Use a handheld scanner to track inventory, shipping, and receiving activities.
  • Support shipping and receiving processes, including packaging and preparing materials for transport.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while driving, operating equipment, and working in the warehouse.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely and accurate material flow between locations.

Essential Skills

  • Valid CDL Class A or CDL Class B license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience.
  • Experience operating a box truck.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds consistently.
  • Ability to operate a sit-down forklift.
  • Basic experience with shipping and receiving processes.
  • Ability to use handheld scanners for tracking inventory and product movement.
  • Experience working in or around a manufacturing facility is a plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with packaging and material handling procedures.
  • Willingness to learn additional skills in areas such as wiring, mechanical work, welding, CNC machinery, electrical testing, and paint line operations.
  • Strong attention to safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Reliability and ability to work independently on a third-shift schedule.

Work Environment

This is a third-shift position, working Monday through Friday from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. The role is based in a manufacturing facility and warehouse setting, involving regular material handling, operation of a sit-down forklift, and use of handheld scanners. The environment is active and production-focused, requiring consistent lifting of up to 50 pounds and adherence to safety procedures while working around machinery and equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

profit sharing, benefits, PTO, paid holidays, and 401k are provided when converted to permanent employee. Profit sharing bonuses are paid out quarterly and usually equal about $1 extra per hour. Benefits are 100% paid for by IEM and are given immediately when taken permanent. There are many skills they can learn in the new facility - wiring, mechanical, welding, CNC machinery, electrical testing, paint line, and more. 10 paid holidays per year and accrued PTO when taken permanent.
