Job Description
This 2nd shift Material Handler role focuses on stocking and pulling parts, delivering materials and supplies, and performing a wide range of material handling and warehousing activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will support production by accurately receiving, storing, moving, and shipping parts and materials while using data collection and software systems to maintain accurate inventory and order information.
Responsibilities
- Perform material handling and warehousing functions required in the receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Stock and pull parts and deliver materials and supplies to designated areas to support production operations.
- Accurately utilize data collection systems to record material movements, inventory transactions, and order processing activities.
- Perform bin transfer confirmations and verify all material pulled for production orders to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Effectively use software systems and computers to access, enter, and update information related to receiving, counting, and order processing.
- Maintain administrative records and documentation related to material handling, inventory, and shipping activities.
- Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts and high reach equipment, as required to safely move materials and complete job functions.
- Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and tools as required to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Assist in identifying issues in material flow or processes and initiate corrective action processes as necessary.
- Perform 5S audits to support workplace organization, cleanliness, and efficiency within the warehouse and shop areas.
- Conduct Safety Stop audit observations as required to help maintain a safe work environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement and process improvement activities (CI/PID) to enhance material handling and warehouse operations.
- Support cross-training initiatives by performing duties or tasks assigned in various areas of the shop to increase flexibility and coverage.
- Follow established production system standard work sheets to ensure consistent, safe, and efficient execution of tasks.
- Promote a culture aligned with organizational values through professional behavior and positive collaboration.
- Follow facility safety policies, safe job procedures, and hazardous risk assessments, using appropriate personal protective equipment for each task.
- Work with a variety of employees throughout the day to effectively communicate needs, coordinate activities, and complete job-related tasks.
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment, serving as a positive role model and supporting coworkers to achieve shared goals.
- Ensure customer requirements are met by maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and quality in material handling and order fulfillment.
- Conduct all business with the highest level of honesty and integrity.
- Interface professionally with plant management, supervisors, and production personnel to resolve issues and support production needs.
- Perform repetitive motions and safely lift, push, or pull components or parts as required by daily tasks.
- Repetitively lift and carry materials up to 35 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
- Travel periodically within the plant and to other warehouses as directed to support material handling and logistics needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and production operations.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of job-related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proven record of good attendance and reliability.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills for interacting with coworkers, supervisors, and production personnel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience operating forklifts, including high reach forklifts, in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Material handling experience, including stocking, pulling, and delivering parts and materials.
- Inventory handling experience with attention to accuracy and detail.
- General labor experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency using RF scanners for inventory and order processing.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills for data entry, record keeping, and use of warehouse and production software systems.
- Experience conducting or participating in 5S audits and continuous improvement activities.
- Comfort working Monday through Thursday on a 2nd shift schedule (4:15 p.m. – 2:45 a.m.).

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing and warehouse setting on a 2nd shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m. You will work in and around production areas, warehouses, and material storage locations, frequently walking between different areas of the plant and occasionally traveling to other warehouses as directed. The work involves operating forklifts and high reach equipment, using RF scanners, and working with computer-based inventory and production systems. The environment is fast-paced and requires repetitive motions, regular lifting and carrying of up to 35 pounds, and occasional pushing or pulling of components and parts. Safety is a core focus, with established facility safety policies, safe job procedures, hazard risk assessments, and required use of appropriate personal protective equipment. The workplace emphasizes organization and cleanliness through 5S practices and supports structured processes through standard work sheets and continuous improvement activities.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Fargo, ND.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.97 - $27.82/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
