Press Break Operator (2nd Shift)
Job Description
As a Press Break Operator on the 2nd shift, you will play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of advanced machinery, ensuring efficient and precise production processes.
Responsibilities- Operate various machines at an advanced level, including press breaks, saws, drills, turret punch, laser, or shear, following standard operating procedures.
- Set up, program, and calibrate machines for production runs, ensuring all configurations meet product specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex machine issues, including mechanical, electrical, and software-related problems.
- Monitor the performance of machines and identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency gains.
- Perform final quality checks on parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet all standards and customer specifications.
- Train and mentor less experienced machine operators (Level 1 and Level 2) on advanced machine operation and troubleshooting techniques.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on machines, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve product designs, production workflows, and equipment performance.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, machine performance, and any corrective actions taken.
- Follow and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Adhere to lean manufacturing guidelines, providing continuous improvement suggestions for gained efficiency.
- Experience with punch press, press brake, sheet metal, turret punch, and laser operations.
- Proficiency in working with sheet metal that is cut, pressed, and punched to strict tolerances.
- Expertise in CNC machines driven operations.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques, including precision manufacturing and CNC operations.
- 5+ years of experience in machine operations, preferably in press breaks, turrets, lasers, and shears.
- Expertise in machine programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Commitment to quality control, safety, and continuous improvement.
- High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical certification or associate degree in machine operation, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience training and mentoring junior staff.

Work EnvironmentWork in a state-of-the-art facility with advanced technologies. The 2nd shift operates from 3PM to 11PM, Monday through Friday, with a 10% shift premium and overtime opportunities. Training will occur Monday to Thursday from 6AM to 4:30PM for one week. The role requires physical activity, including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, and using personal protective equipment. Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination are essential.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.60/hr.
