Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Test Lead to oversee a team of Test Engineers in the development and implementation of manufacturing test solutions for electronic assemblies and systems. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that testing strategies and procedures meet industry standards and customer requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electronics manufacturing test engineering and proven leadership experience.
Responsibilities- Directly lead a team of approximately 8 Test Engineers in designing, implementing, and validating manufacturing test solutions.
- Develop and maintain test strategies, procedures, and documentation.
- Oversee test validation activities, including correlation studies, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and failure mode investigations.
- Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure test coverage aligns with product specifications and reliability goals.
- Ensure Design for Excellence (DFX) principles are communicated throughout the test design process.
- Manage the integration of automated test equipment and in-circuit test systems into production lines.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test safety, reduce test cycle time, improve yield, and enhance fault detection capability.
- Ensure calibration, maintenance, and safety compliance of all test equipment.
- Monitor test data trends, generate reports, and recommend corrective actions for recurring issues.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for test engineering projects.
- 8+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing test engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing test methods such as ICT, functional test, boundary scan, and environmental stress screening.
- Proven expertise in test validation methodologies and statistical analysis tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, including overnight stays.
- Experience with LabVIEW, NI TestStand, or similar test automation platforms.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, with LSS Green Belt or Black Belt preferred, or willingness to acquire within the first 12 months of employment.
- Hands-on experience with PCB assembly processes and troubleshooting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field; MBA, Engineering Management, or Technical Master’s Degree is a plus.
The role involves working in a test and validation environment for electronics and PCB manufacturing and design. The position may require travel up to 25%, primarily to Pittsburgh, PA. The work setting is dynamic, with significant investment into the Batesburg location, offering opportunities for growth and transformation.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Batesburg, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
