OverviewGeneral Atomics is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our growing international workforce and serve as a strategic partner to leaders across multiple global locations. This role is responsible for developing and executing HR strategies, policies, and programs that support business objectives while ensuring compliance with employment regulations in key international markets, including India, Japan, and Canada.
The ideal candidate brings extensive international HR experience, strong employee relations expertise, and the ability to influence leaders in a dynamic, complex organization. This position offers high visibility and the opportunity to shape HR practices within a global aerospace and defense environment.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with business leaders to align HR strategies with organizational goals and workforce plans.
- Serve as the primary HRBP for international operations, supporting leaders across India, Japan, and Canada.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, practices, and programs that comply with local employment laws and corporate requirements.
- Lead and manage complex employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution activities.
- Ensure compliance with country-specific labor laws, regulations, and employment requirements.
- Collaborate with domestic HR, Legal, and business leadership teams to support globally aligned HR initiatives.
- Analyze compensation, benefits, and market data to provide recommendations and insights for international talent strategies.
- Drive workforce planning efforts, organizational effectiveness initiatives, and talent management programs.
- Oversee and continuously improve HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Utilize HR metrics and analytics to identify trends, mitigate risks, and support business decision-making.
- Build strong partnerships across diverse cultures, functions, and time zones.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant international HR responsibility.
- Proven experience supporting global operations and developing HR policies across multiple countries, particularly India, Japan, and Canada.
- Strong knowledge of international employment practices and multi-country HR compliance.
- Demonstrated success serving as a true strategic HR Business Partner to senior leaders.
- Extensive employee relations experience, including managing sensitive and complex matters independently.
- Experience supporting organizations of 300+ employees in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Strong analytical skills with experience evaluating compensation, benefits, and workforce data.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work onsite full-time in San Diego, CA.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or comparable HR certification.
- Experience within aerospace, defense, technology, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of Canadian employment law and broader international labor regulations.
- Experience supporting global mobility and international workforce programs.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms, HR analytics, and reporting tools.
- Experience driving workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development initiatives across international teams.
- Be a strategic partner within a globally recognized aerospace and defense organization.
- Influence HR practices across multiple international markets.
- Work closely with executive and country-level leadership teams.
- Help shape the employee experience for a growing global workforce.
- Take on a highly visible role with meaningful business impact.
This is a Permanent position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
