This role operates and monitors manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe production processes. You work on a fixed 12-hour shift schedule and collaborate closely with your team to meet production goals while maintaining high quality standards and strict adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Be present and punctual for all scheduled 12-hour shifts.
  • Set up machines to start production cycles according to established specifications and procedures.
  • Control and adjust machine settings to maintain optimal performance and product quality.
  • Feed raw materials or parts into semi-automated machines in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Use tooling and precision measuring instruments to verify that parts meet required specifications.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machines to ensure operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Handle materials safely and efficiently throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility safety standards and housekeeping requirements.
  • Collaborate with co-workers and supervisors to resolve production issues and improve processes.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures at all times.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience as a machine operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of tooling and the use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience working with manufacturing equipment, including setup, operation, and basic adjustment.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Ability to perform material handling tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and consistency in attending and completing scheduled 12-hour shifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with production processes and machine operation in a heavy industrial or foundry-like setting.
  • Comfort using hand tools and basic maintenance tools.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or similar material handling equipment (experience preferred).
  • Willingness to learn through on-the-job training and continuously improve skills.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Work Environment

The role is based in a dark, heavy manufacturing environment that almost resembles a foundry. The facility can be somewhat dirty due to the nature of the production processes, and temperatures can become very warm during the summer months. You work 12-hour shifts on a fixed schedule: A Shift (8:00 pm to 8:00 am Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Sunday), B Shift (8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Sunday), C Shift (8:00 pm to 8:00 am Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Sunday), and D Shift (8:00 am to 8:00 pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Sunday). Certain shifts include an additional shift differential. You operate industrial machinery, use tooling and precision measuring instruments, and handle materials in a busy production setting where safety procedures and appropriate industrial attire are essential.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48214.40 - $48214.40/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
