This role offers an opportunity for a skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented carpenter to work on high-quality custom cabinetry and architectural trim projects. You will focus on finish carpentry, including cabinet installation, crown molding, and laminate work, while collaborating closely with an experienced team in a fast-paced commercial construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install custom cabinets and architectural trim, including crown molding, baseboards, and other detailed finish components.
  • Assemble cabinetry and millwork components both in the shop and on job sites.
  • Read and interpret tape measures and basic construction drawings or blueprints to ensure accurate measurements and layouts.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively, including sanders, routers, nail guns, and other carpentry equipment.
  • Apply and glue laminate on desks and other surfaces as part of cabinet and trim installation when needed.
  • Ride along with experienced team members from project to project to complete installations efficiently and safely.
  • Work efficiently and maintain a high level of craftsmanship while meeting time-sensitive project deadlines.
  • Lift and move materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the workday.
  • Stand on your feet for up to 10 hours per day while performing carpentry and installation tasks.
  • Follow all safety procedures and adhere to required personal protective equipment and dress code standards.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in finish carpentry, cabinet installation, or trim work.
  • Strong skills in crown molding installation, especially for trim-focused responsibilities.
  • Ability to work confidently with laminate, including routing, sanding, and trim work.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Basic knowledge and effective use of hand tools and power tools, including sanders, routers, and nail guns.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings or blueprints.
  • Previous carpentry or woodworking
  • Consistent ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Comfort standing on your feet for up to 10 hours a day.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience installing cabinetry and architectural trim in commercial environments.
  • Experience in cabinet making or millwork fabrication.
  • Familiarity with installing trim, cabinets, and cabinetry in a variety of settings.
  • Comfort working with large power tools and shop equipment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on positive collaboration and communication.
  • Interest in learning from seasoned professionals and growing into leadership or specialized roles.

Work Environment

You will work a consistent schedule from Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break, providing long weekends every week. The role is based in a construction environment focused on remodeling and building various commercial projects, including custom cabinetry and trim installations. Work is physically active and often fast-paced, requiring extended periods on your feet and regular lifting of materials. The culture is highly team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on getting along as a group and participating in team activities and outings. The required dress code includes steel-toed boots, long pants, a long-sleeve or long T-shirt, safety glasses, a hard hat, and a high-visibility vest to maintain a safe and professional job site.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ladson, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
