Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Electrician – Custom-Engineered Equipment
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Maintenance Electrician to support the design and build of custom-engineered machinery and equipment. In this role, you work hands-on with electrical systems, collaborate closely with engineers and fabricators, and help develop innovative control and automation solutions that directly support advanced civil construction and tunneling equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and troubleshoot electrical systems for custom machinery and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide installation and assembly work.
- Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to integrate electrical components into mechanical builds and complete systems.
- Perform testing, calibration, and quality checks on control systems, electrical panels, and assemblies to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in accordance with safety, cleanliness, and operational standards.
- Assist in the development, refinement, and implementation of control systems and automation solutions, including PLC-based controls.
- Support field installations and service work as needed, including troubleshooting and repairs at customer or project sites.
- Follow wiring best practices, including proper conduit bending, routing, labeling, and termination to meet quality and safety standards.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in industrial or equipment-related electrical work.
- Strong understanding of AC and DC electrical systems, including power distribution and control circuits.
- Knowledge of motor controls, relays, and PLCs used in industrial and machinery applications.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency in wiring, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and components.
- Experience with panel building, including layout, component mounting, and wiring of control panels.
- Ability to perform conduit bending and install conduit runs in accordance with best practices and standards.
- Comfort working in a fabrication shop environment and collaborating across disciplines such as engineering and fabrication.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to performing quality electrical work.
- High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Technical training or certification in electrical systems is preferred.
- Experience supporting custom-engineered or specialized machinery is a plus.
- Familiarity with automation solutions and control system development is beneficial.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.

Work Environment
You work primarily in a fabrication shop environment, closely integrated with engineering and fabrication teams building custom machinery and equipment. The role involves hands-on electrical installation, panel building, conduit bending, and troubleshooting in a setting where safety, organization, and tool maintenance are essential. You may occasionally support field installations and service work at project or customer sites, applying your technical skills in dynamic and varied conditions. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gretna, NE.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
