Contract Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team on a temporary basis. This position requires over five years of relevant experience in mechanical design engineering. You will be responsible for designing technical solutions, leading design engineering activities, and ensuring that designs meet business targets and requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design technical solutions according to given prerequisites such as function, style, volume, geometry, costs, and quality targets.
- Support and lead mechanical design engineering activities in specific areas.
- Integrate deliveries from others and ensure quality and readiness before release.
- Provide input in product and system roadmaps.
- Network and build relationships with universities and external institutes.
- Participate in business development and innovation.
- Support junior team members and peers, acting as a role model for lifelong learning.
- Lead problem-solving projects and bring projects to final release.
- Document vendor components and push them through design release.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Creo Parametric with at least a couple of years of experience.
- Experience with design, modifications, and design release.
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to solve complex issues.
- Familiarity with family tables, PDM, Windchill, and part documentation systems such as KOLA.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
- Extensive experience (10-15 years) could potentially compensate for an associate's degree.
- Experience with air suspension systems, suspension brackets, spring hangers, auxiliary lift axles, suspension links, and chassis structural components.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Greensboro, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
