Job Title: 3 Month Contract - Mechanical Inspector

Job Description

The Quality Inspector performs manual inspections and operates coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify the dimensional accuracy and quality of aerospace parts in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all components meet strict engineering specifications, blueprints, and industry standards before release.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed manual inspections of aerospace parts using precision measurement tools to verify conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to conduct dimensional inspections and document results accurately.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to determine measurement requirements and inspection criteria.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to evaluate part features and tolerances.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments to measure dimensions and verify product quality.
  • Record inspection data clearly and maintain accurate documentation for quality assurance and traceability.
  • Identify nonconforming parts and communicate findings to appropriate team members for corrective action.
  • Follow established inspection procedures and quality standards to ensure consistent and reliable results.
  • Support overall quality assurance activities within the aerospace manufacturing process.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience performing quality inspection in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in manual inspection of parts using precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for dimensional inspection.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
  • Skilled in using micrometers for precise dimensional measurements.
  • Skilled in using calipers for accurate inspection of part features.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance practices and standards in manufacturing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience inspecting aerospace components or working in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with inspection documentation and reporting practices.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills when evaluating parts against specifications.
  • Ability to follow established inspection procedures and work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Brea, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
