Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to oversee financial operations for a manufacturing site in Houston, Texas. This role will guide cost accounting activities, support accurate financial reporting, and provide operational insight that helps improve plant performance. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing finance expertise and can partner effectively with leadership on budgeting, analysis, and month-end close activities.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the plant’s accounting function with a focus on timely reporting, financial accuracy, and strong internal controls.
• Manage manufacturing cost analysis, including product costing, inventory valuation, and variance review to support informed business decisions.
• Maintain and refine standard cost processes to ensure reliable costing data across production activities.
• Direct month-end close activities for the plant, preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements within established deadlines.
• Partner with plant leadership to evaluate performance trends, explain cost drivers, and recommend opportunities for operational improvement.
• Monitor inventory transactions and production-related financial data to ensure alignment between physical activity and accounting records.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial planning for plant operations.
• Utilize accounting systems such as Eaton and Microsoft Great Plains to manage reporting, cost data, and financial records effectively.• 5+ years of experience in plant accounting, manufacturing finance, or a related controllership role.
• Proven background in manufacturing cost accounting and core cost accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with standard cost accounting in a production environment.

• Familiarity with Eaton and Microsoft Great Plains accounting systems.
• Ability to analyze large sets of financial and operational data and translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with plant and finance leadership.
