Job Description
The Janitor maintains a clean, safe, and orderly facility by performing routine and detailed cleaning of restrooms, lunchrooms, offices, and other areas as needed. Depending on experience, this role may also support sanitation activities in a regulated warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, and dispensers, following established procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of lunchrooms and break areas by wiping surfaces, cleaning tables and chairs, and removing trash.
- Clean office areas, including vacuuming or sweeping floors, dusting surfaces, and emptying wastebaskets and recycling containers.
- Perform general janitorial duties throughout the facility, including mopping, sweeping, and maintaining common areas.
- Support sanitation tasks in production or warehouse areas if experienced, helping to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Remove trash and recyclables from designated areas and dispose of them in appropriate containers or compactors.
- Restock cleaning supplies, restroom supplies, and other materials as needed to ensure all areas remain well maintained.
- Follow all company cleaning and sanitation protocols, particularly those related to working in an FDA-regulated environment.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damage observed during cleaning to the appropriate personnel.
Essential Skills
- Previous janitorial or sanitation experience in any type of facility.
- Ability to perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
- Capability to follow cleaning schedules, procedures, and safety guidelines consistently.
- Attention to detail to ensure restrooms, lunchrooms, and offices are thoroughly cleaned and presentable.
- Reliability and strong work ethic to maintain cleanliness standards across all assigned areas.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a group of approximately 50 people.
- Willingness to train on first shift for the initial period and adapt to established processes.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oxnard, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
