Job Description
This role is a full-time, first-shift Packer position in a climate-controlled production environment, focused on repetitive assembly and packaging of small medical components such as care kits and diabetic testing meters. You will work on a production line assembling products and accompanying literature, packing and labeling shipping boxes, and supporting overall quality and housekeeping standards while collaborating closely with a small team.
Responsibilities
- Perform repetitive assembly of care kits and diabetic testing meters, including light assembly of the product and associated literature and instructions.
- Pack shipping boxes accurately, ensuring correct labeling and proper palletizing for shipment.
- Read and follow work instructions and production documentation with close attention to detail.
- Stand at a designated work station for up to 9 hours per day while performing kitting and packaging tasks.
- Conduct basic quality inspections on assembled and packaged products as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing general 5S and housekeeping duties.
- Work effectively in a team environment alongside 2–3 other employees at the station.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding workflow, issues, and quality concerns.
- Apply problem-solving skills to address minor production or packaging issues as they arise.
- Follow all attendance, safety, and production policies and procedures consistently.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–2years of experience in production, assembly, packaging, or general labor roles.
- Ability to stand in the same location for up to 9 hours per day.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent quality and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and basic production documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address routine production and packaging issues.
- Excellent communication abilities to work effectively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of basic industry best practices related to packing, assembly, and quality.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with packing and packaging processes in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
- Familiarity with labeling, hand assembly, and kitting of small components.
- Comfort working with small medical components and related materials.
- Ability to maintain excellent attendance and reliability.
- Willingness to perform quality inspections and housekeeping tasks as needed.
This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
