Job Description
We are seeking Construction Inspectors to support infrastructure projects in the City of Phoenix. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience on municipal projects, working primarily outdoors in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections to ensure construction work complies with project plans and specifications.
- Monitor, observe, and document daily construction activities.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate project records.
- Attend project meetings and communicate project status effectively.
- Address field construction issues and coordinate with contractors as needed.
- Adhere to all company and project safety requirements.
- Maintain company-issued vehicles and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, civil infrastructure, utilities, or a related field.
- Associate degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent construction or inspection experience considered.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including Arizona summer temperatures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Water and/or sewer inspection experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Preferred certifications: OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification, NICET Certification, ACI Certification.
- 5 years of experience with municipal projects or public works.
- 5 years of civil construction experience, communication, and people skills.
- Experience in civil infrastructure, public works, utility, water, sewer, roadway, or as a contractor.
- Candidates must successfully pass the City of Phoenix screening process.
- Immediate interview availability and quick start preferred.
Work Environment
The role is based in Phoenix and involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The position provides a company vehicle and a work phone or phone reimbursement. The work environment is dynamic and requires adherence to safety protocols. This is an employee-owned firm, offering a collaborative and supportive culture.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $45.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
