Job Description
We are looking for an Accountant to join a healthcare organization in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, where you will contribute to core accounting activities and help maintain accurate financial operations. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for an accounting specialist with at least 3 years of experience who wants to strengthen technical skills in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment. The role offers exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, close activities, and cross-functional teamwork supporting multiple areas of the business.
Responsibilities:
• Create monthly financial statements along with detailed supporting schedules to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Record and post journal entries in the general ledger while maintaining strong documentation standards.
• Perform daily cash balancing and reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts to identify and resolve variances.
• Examine transaction activity, research unusual items, and follow through on discrepancy resolution.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end close efforts by preparing entries, schedules, and related accounting support.
• Assemble audit workpapers and organize backup documentation for internal and external review processes.
• Assist with reporting needs for assigned business units and provide accounting support to broader finance operations.
• Help improve accounting procedures by identifying efficiencies and supporting process enhancement initiatives.
• Maintain complete, organized, and accurate accounting records in accordance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• Partner with accounting and finance colleagues across the organization to support ongoing operational and reporting needs.
• 3+ years of accounting experience in a corporate, healthcare, or similarly structured environment.• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Experience supporting financial reporting and preparing clear, accurate accounting documentation.
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation activities.
• Understanding of GAAP and standard accounting controls and procedures.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies, analyze account activity, and resolve issues with attention to detail.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across accounting and finance teams.
• CPA designation or progress toward certification is a plus, and audit exposure is beneficial.
