Job Description
The Shipping and Receiving Worker counts, packages, and ships manufactured goods while maintaining accurate inventory records in the computer system. This role receives new products, logs them into inventory, and operates forklifts and other material handling equipment in a production environment. The position focuses on meeting customer-specific packaging and shipping requirements, following safety procedures, and supporting smooth warehouse and production operations.
Responsibilities
- Count, package, and ship manufactured goods according to customer specifications and requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and track all movements in the computer system.
- Receive incoming products and materials, verify quantities, and log them into inventory records.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures and general manufacturing safety rules for equipment operation and material handling.
- Package manufactured goods to meet customer-specific instructions, including correct counts and labeling.
- Ensure correct pack quantities and parts are shipped to the correct company and destination.
- Monitor shipments and inventory transactions to identify discrepancies and help resolve issues.
- Notify the supervisor promptly to resolve process, product, equipment, and production issues.
- Communicate courteously and effectively with other employees, customers, and vendors to support shipping and receiving activities.
- Perform any other duties designated by management to support warehouse and production operations.
Essential Skills
- Experience in shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse or production environment.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Good math skills for counting, verifying quantities, and maintaining accurate inventory.
- Ability to understand and follow customer-specific shipping and packaging instructions.
- Knowledge of general manufacturing safety rules and safe equipment operation.
- Ability to interact and communicate courteously with other employees, customers, and vendors.
- Basic computer skills for tracking inventory in a computer or ERP system.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in ERP software is a plus.
- Experience in general production or warehouse work is beneficial.
- Attention to detail to ensure correct pack quantities and accurate shipment information.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple shipments and inventory tasks.
- Ability to work reliably in a fast-paced production environment.

Work Environment

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of MANKATO, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $41.25/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
