We are seeking skilled General Maintenance Mechanics to join our team in a dynamic glass manufacturing plant. This role involves engaging in preventive and reactive maintenance on various machinery and equipment. Candidates will have the opportunity to participate in an 8,000-hour company-funded DOL Maintenance Mechanic apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct greasing and preventive maintenance on bearings, conveyors, and rollers.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs if applicable.
  • Engage in breakdown and teardown of lines during the glass line expansion.
  • Interact with outside contractors as necessary.
Essential Skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and repair experience with motors, engines, hydraulic systems, and conveyors.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and pass two mechanical tests (SAM and B-MAR).
  • Troubleshooting, mechanical repair, and maintenance technician skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, welding, schematics, hydraulics, electro-mechanical, and pneumatics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior industrial maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Presentation skills, willingness to learn, and completion of relevant courses or classes are beneficial.
  • Auto-mechanics with a solid work history are encouraged to apply.

Work Environment

Work in a glass manufacturing environment that is hot, dirty, dusty, and loud, with two furnaces reaching up to 2800 degrees F. Safety is prioritized, with a regulated respirator program in place for areas with potential respiratory exposure. The maintenance team, composed of around 58 members, is led by experienced supervisors. Enjoy a stable and calm team culture with reasonable expectations and resources to solve problems. The position follows a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, requiring both day (7:00am - 7:00pm) and night (7:00pm - 7:00am) shifts, providing 7 consecutive days off each month. All necessary personal protective equipment, including metatarsal leather boots and eyewear, is provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $63086.00 - $72571.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
