Civil Estimator
Job Description
The Civil Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including foundations, embankments, and concrete structures. The role involves developing comprehensive bid proposals, analyzing project risks, and supporting project execution from preconstruction through contract award.
Responsibilities- Prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy civil, utility, roadway, and structural concrete projects.
- Collaborate with operations, project management, subcontractors, and suppliers to develop comprehensive bid proposals.
- Analyze project risks and support successful project execution.
- Work closely with general contractors to generate estimates.
- Utilize Procore and other estimation software for project planning and execution.
- Proficiency in bidding, civil estimating, and working with structural concrete.
- Experience with general contractors and estimation software, particularly Procore.
- 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, site development, or concrete construction.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience with bridges and concrete structures is a major plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science or related field preferred.
- Experience estimating projects ranging from $1 million to $100 million+.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as WinEST, B2W Estimate, Bid2Win, Bluebeam Revu, and Excel.
- Knowledge of production rates, means and methods, and heavy equipment operations.
The role is based in a mid-sized, family-owned office environment. The candidate will work closely with owners and project managers, spending time both in the office and on-site. The position involves interaction with internal employees as well as external clients, general contractors, and subcontractors. The job requires a five-day work week in the office, emphasizing a culture of great flexibility and support.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.00 - $57.88/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
