Job Description

The Forklift Operator supports warehouse operations by safely operating a sit-down forklift to move, store, and handle wire materials and other inventory. This role focuses on loading and unloading shipments, accurately putting away product, assisting with wire cutting, and maintaining organized inventory while consistently following established safety and warehouse procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, and transport wire materials and other products throughout the warehouse.
  • Put away wire and related materials into designated storage locations in an accurate and organized manner.
  • Unload inbound shipments and verify materials against documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with cutting wire to specified lengths according to work orders or customer specifications.
  • Maintain accurate inventory placement, organization, and control within the warehouse.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections on forklifts and related tools and promptly report any issues or maintenance needs.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, warehouse procedures, and material handling standards at all times.
  • Handle and maneuver wire and other materials safely to prevent damage and ensure smooth operations.
  • Support picking, order pulling, and general labor tasks as needed to meet operational demands.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks for shipping and receiving activities.
  • Participate in warehouse inventory activities, including counting and verifying stock levels.
  • Help schedule and coordinate shipments as needed to support shipping and receiving workflows.

Essential Skills

  • Prior forklift operating experience, with propane-powered sit-down forklifts preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift in a busy warehouse environment.
  • Ability to safely handle, lift, move, and maneuver wire materials and other inventory.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when verifying materials and placing inventory.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Experience as a picker, order puller, or in warehouse inventory roles.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camp Hill, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
