The Assembly Technician works Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in an industrial environment, performing disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, testing, and troubleshooting of pump assemblies and related systems. This role focuses on accurate mechanical work, thorough documentation, and adherence to procedures, while supporting a high-tech, partially cleanroom production and service operation.

Responsibilities
  • Disassemble, clean, and re-assemble pumps and related components with a high level of mechanical accuracy.
  • Receive pumps and incoming units, generate parts orders, and perform detailed teardown and condition reports.
  • Document all observations during disassembly and create clear failure analysis reports.
  • Test and troubleshoot assemblies and final systems to ensure proper operation and quality standards.
  • Perform rework and quality testing on assemblies and systems as needed to meet specifications.
  • Maintain and replace equipment, tools, and supplies used in the service and assembly of pumps.
  • Check power tools and hand tools regularly to verify proper operation and safe working condition.
  • Follow all established procedures and work instructions consistently throughout the assembly process.
  • Communicate issues, abnormalities, and improvement opportunities to leads or supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Support general labor and assembly line activities as required within the service center.
  • Handle heavy lifting tasks, including moving and positioning components weighing 35 pounds or more.
  • Work safely in an industrial and partial cleanroom environment while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Essential Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Capability to lift 35 pounds or more on a regular basis.
  • Consistent, reliable attendance and willingness to work a 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. schedule, Monday through Friday.
  • Attention to detail in documentation, including condition reports and failure analysis reports.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions accurately.
  • Clear and timely communication with leads and supervisors regarding issues and progress.
  • Ability to wear and properly use required PPE in an industrial and partial cleanroom setting.
  • Positive attitude and motivation to learn and grow in a high-tech environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior mechanical work experience in assembly, maintenance, or repair.
  • Service experience in industrial, manufacturing, or technical environments.
  • Sandblasting experience or familiarity with surface preparation processes.
  • Experience working in high-tech or cleanroom environments.
  • Construction or general labor experience, particularly involving heavy lifting and equipment handling.
  • Experience on assembly lines or in production settings.
  • General industrial or warehouse experience that demonstrates reliability and work ethic.
  • Interest in progressing into field service or technical roles in the future.

Work Environment

The position is based in an industrial facility that includes partial cleanroom areas, offering exposure to both traditional shop environments and controlled high-tech spaces. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime schedule. The role involves heavy lifting of 35 pounds or more, regular use of hand and power tools, and active participation in assembly and general labor tasks. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and must be worn as directed to ensure safety in all work areas. The environment supports structured procedures, tool maintenance, and cleanliness, aligning with both industrial and cleanroom standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillsboro, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
