The General Production Worker (Production Assembler) assembles, programs, and tests custom products in a team‑based, lean manufacturing environment while consistently meeting quality, safety, and continuous improvement standards. This role works with both mechanical and electrical components to support efficient production operations.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble custom products using both mechanical and electrical components according to schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Program and test assembled products to ensure they meet performance and quality specifications.
  • Perform electrical assembly tasks, including wiring and working with panels, wire harnesses, and other electrical controls.
  • Carry out mechanical assembly tasks using hand tools and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operate production machinery and equipment as required to support manufacturing processes.
  • Handle general production and general labor tasks to maintain workflow and support the production team.
  • Inspect completed assemblies and products to verify quality and adherence to standards.
  • Follow lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques for items up to 40 lbs.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment (Level 1 requirement).
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily tasks.
  • At least 2 years of assembly experience for more advanced responsibilities (Level 2 requirement).
  • Hands-on experience assembling panels, wire harnesses, and/or other electrical controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Proficiency in electrical assembly, including wiring and basic electrical component handling.
  • Proficiency in mechanical assembly using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Experience with general production, machine operation, and assembly work.
  • Comfort working with hand tools and power tools in a production setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety.

  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment and contributing to process improvements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based production setting and communicate clearly with coworkers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills when assembling, testing, and troubleshooting products.
  • Reliability and consistency in meeting production schedules and deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn new assembly processes, tools, and equipment as needed.

Work Environment

This role is based in a production facility operating on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You work in a team-oriented, lean manufacturing environment with regular use of hand tools, power tools, and production machinery. The work involves both mechanical and electrical assembly tasks and requires frequent lifting of items up to 40 lbs. The setting is structured around safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement, with clear processes and standards guiding daily activities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
