Manufacturer in Reamstown, PA is looking for a CNC Laser Operator on 1st shift. Company has seen consistent growth over the last few years and is looking to add to their expanding team! Will pay $25/hr or more depending on experience. Interviews available ASAP after application is submitted!

Job Description

The Laser Operator sets up and operates laser cutting equipment and related machinery to produce high-quality metal components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This technical role focuses on machine operation, metal bending and punching, and material handling to support the production team and ensure parts meet precise specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the laser machine and other production machinery to cut, bend, and punch metal products according to work orders and drawings.
  • Assist other machine operators with running various machines as needed to support overall production flow.
  • Perform basic equipment setup, adjustments, and inspections using precision measuring and gauging tools.
  • Apply working knowledge of shield gases while operating the laser cutting equipment to ensure proper machine performance and part quality.
  • Operate a fork truck to move material into and out of storage racks and designated work areas.
  • Check parts for quality to confirm they meet specified tolerances and customer requirements.
  • Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and production documentation to complete jobs correctly and efficiently.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to operate laser cutting machinery and related production equipment safely and effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience with machine operating in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
  • Ability to check parts for quality and verify that parts meet specifications and tolerances.
  • Basic math skills, including proven ability to work with measurements and perform fraction-to-decimal conversions.
  • Ability to read a tape measure or scale accurately to the 1/32nd of an inch.
  • Capability to operate cranes and forklifts (training provided) for safe material movement.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Approximately 2–4 years of laser operation experience preferred.
  • Mechanical or machine manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with CNC and laser operation in a metal fabrication or manufacturing setting is beneficial.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and push or pull up to 20 pounds as part of daily tasks.

Work Environment

This role is based in a first-shift manufacturing environment, working Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The setting is noisy and fast-paced, with frequent activity around rolling tables, carts, and forklifts. You will regularly work with laser cutting equipment, CNC machinery, overhead cranes, and fork trucks, following established safety and preventative maintenance procedures. The position requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, standing for prolonged periods, and performing frequent tasks such as reading a tape measure, operating cranes and forklifts (with training provided), and lifting or carrying up to 35 pounds. Occasional crouching, kneeling, climbing, stooping, and bending are part of the job as you handle materials and access equipment. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reamstown, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
