General Production Worker
Job Description
The General Production Worker supports the production of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) units by managing incoming battery shipments and ensuring materials are properly prepared for assembly. This role focuses on handling, organizing, and transporting battery components throughout the production process to help maintain an efficient and smooth workflow on the production floor. Upon conversion to a full-time role, you will have the opportunity to expand your skillset through cross-training in multiple areas of production, including assembly, machinery operation, and understanding the full production line.
Responsibilities- Receive and assist with unloading incoming battery shipments in a safe and efficient manner.
- Unbox battery packs and organize materials onto pallets for use in production operations.
- Sort and stage materials in an organized manner to support assembly and production activities.
- Transport batteries and components from packaging areas to designated production lines using appropriate equipment and methods.
- Ensure materials are readily available at production lines to maintain consistent workflow and production efficiency.
- Support the assembly of battery energy storage units (BESS) as needed.
- Assist with the operation of production machinery and equipment after appropriate training.
- Help prepare assembled units for testing and final production stages when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with established safety standards and procedures.
- Perform repetitive assembly and material handling tasks while following quality and safety guidelines.
- Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform repetitive assembly and material handling work for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail when sorting, staging, and organizing materials for production.
- Reliability in following established production processes and safety procedures.
- Basic understanding of general labor and production environments.
- Willingness to cross-train in multiple areas of production, including assembly of BESS units.
- Interest in learning to operate production machinery and equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow full production line processes after training.
- Comfort working in a structured, shift-based environment.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a production facility focused on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) units. The position follows a Gold 2 schedule: 6:00 pm to 6:00 am on a 2-3-2 rotating pattern, which offers regular, predictable shifts. You will work on and around production lines, packaging areas, and material staging zones, handling batteries and related components. The environment prioritizes cleanliness, safety, and organization, with established safety standards and procedures guiding daily work. Attire is typical for a production setting, with practical, comfortable clothing suitable for manual labor and adherence to any required safety gear.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
