Job Description
This role focuses on safely loading and unloading trailers and flatbed trucks using large forklifts or telehandlers in a yard environment. You will handle pipe and other materials, secure loads with straps and ropes, and complete all required paperwork for each shipment. Internal forklift certification is provided, and you will work closely with truck drivers and yard team members across two nearby locations.
Responsibilities- Load and unload trailers and open-air flatbed trucks using a large forklift or telehandler.
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently in a yard setting, following all safety procedures.
- Secure and strap down loads of pipe and other materials using a variety of straps and ropes.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately for each load handled.
- Use RF scanning equipment to track and verify materials and loads as needed.
- Work in coordination with truck drivers and internal yard employees to ensure timely loading and unloading.
- Move between two yard locations as required to support daily operations.
- Perform some outside work to unload trucks and strap loads, while operating an enclosed-cab forklift.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
- Demonstrate a pleasant, professional attitude when interacting with truckers and internal staff.
- Experience operating large forklifts, preferably in a yard or similar outdoor setting.
- Ability to safely load and unload trailers and flatbed trucks with heavy materials such as pipe.
- Proficiency in securing loads with straps, ropes, and related tie-down equipment.
- Basic ability to complete load-related paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Comfort working outside on occasion, including strapping loads and unloading trucks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a pleasant attitude when working with truck drivers and internal employees.
- Willingness to work between two locations as part of the regular job duties.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and operate enclosed-cab forklifts and telehandlers.
- Experience using RF scanning equipment in a yard or warehouse environment.
- Background as a yard loader or similar material handling role.
- Flexibility to work in a role that may be either direct placement or contract-to-hire.
- Comfort working in a team-focused yard environment with multiple stakeholders.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a yard setting between two locations, working closely with yard employees at both sites. You will operate an enclosed-cab forklift or telehandler, but will work outside on occasion to unload trucks and strap loads on open-air flatbed trucks. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with very rare weekend work. The position may be structured as direct placement or contract-to-hire, offering stability and the potential for long-term employment in a collaborative, hands-on environment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $45760.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
