The Forklift Mechanic will perform maintenance and repair on LP and electric forklift equipment, focusing on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs to keep all machinery operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on LP and electric forklifts to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on forklift and heavy equipment.
- Carry out repairs on forklift components, including hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and LP fuel systems.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential problems and recommend appropriate maintenance or repairs.
- Test equipment after service to verify proper operation and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed on each piece of equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working on equipment in the warehouse environment.
- Communicate clearly with internal customers and team members regarding equipment status, repair needs, and timelines.
- Handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting components and parts up to 75 lbs as needed for repairs.
Essential Skills
- 1–2 years of experience troubleshooting electric or LP systems on forklifts or similar equipment.
- Hands-on experience with forklift maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and their maintenance on heavy equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues on industrial equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily tasks.
- Excellent customer service skills and clear communication with internal stakeholders.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures.

- Experience working with heavy equipment in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Ability to work independently with very little supervision.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting and servicing equipment.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance and repair tasks.

Work Environment
This position is based in a warehouse environment where forklifts and heavy equipment are serviced and maintained. You will work primarily on-site with minimal supervision, in a setting that emphasizes safety and efficient operations. The work is hands-on and physically active, involving the use of standard tools and equipment for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs. The schedule is a Monday to Friday 6AM-2:30PM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kutztown, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
