CNC Machinist
Job Description
1st shift: 7am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday
Pay Range: $30-50/hr DOE

This role focuses on setting up, operating, and programming CNC machining centers to produce precision parts that meet customer specifications. You will create and adjust CNC programs, perform accurate measurements, and ensure parts are properly finished and documented, while maintaining a clean and efficient work area in a large-scale job shop environment. Inspecting and analyzing parts using a CMM Machine running PC-DMIS software will also be required.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machining centers for both single-part production and high-volume production runs using written and verbal instructions and mechanical blueprints.
- Program CNC machining centers, including writing and editing CNC programs directly at the machine operator panel.
- Load and off-load production programs and input simple programs as needed to support daily machining operations.
- Submit first-article parts to quality control and review inspection reports to make program and setup adjustments to achieve acceptable parts.
- Change tooling and adjust machine offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy and part quality.
- Check part dimensions using micrometers, calipers, gage pins, depth micrometers, drop indicators, comparators, surface plates, microscopes, and other precision measurement tools.
- Program CMM machine to inspect parts utilizing PC-DMIS software
- De-burr parts to customer specifications and clean parts as necessary to ensure proper finish and presentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in and around CNC machining centers.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machining centers to support reliable and consistent operation.
- Collaborate with quality and production teams to resolve machining issues and continuously improve processes.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience working in a machine shop or equivalent technical school training related to machining.
- Proficiency in setting up, operating, and programming CNC machining centers.
- Ability to write CNC programs directly on the machine control.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Strong skills using precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, drop indicators, comparators, surface plates, microscopes, and gage pins.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with CAM software such as EdgeCAM, MasterCAM, or similar programming tools.
- Familiarity with production fixtures and tooling design for CNC machining.
- Experienced with CMM machines and PC-DMIS software
- Technical school coursework or certifications in machining, CNC operations, or manufacturing technology.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Lancaster, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
