Job Description
This role focuses on mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation of dock equipment, warehouse racking, and conveyor systems. You apply strong mechanical aptitude to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical issues, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently in warehouse environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical repairs and installations on dock equipment, warehouse racking, and conveyor systems.
- Travel to warehouse facilities to complete service work on-site, primarily inside warehouse environments.
- Inspect equipment to identify mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Troubleshoot mechanically related problems involving bearings, pulleys, gears, gearboxes, and similar components.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical systems to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed to perform repairs and installations.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand equipment layout and repair requirements.
- Document maintenance and repair activities to ensure accurate service records.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working on dock equipment, racking, and conveyor systems.
- Collaborate with site personnel to schedule work, minimize disruption to operations, and ensure equipment is returned to service promptly.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience in a mechanical maintenance role.
- At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting mechanically related issues.
- Hands-on experience working with mechanical components such as bearings, pulleys, gears, and gearboxes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Basic electrical understanding related to industrial and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in using standard maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with welding for repair and fabrication tasks.
- Solid troubleshooting skills in service and maintenance technician environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working specifically on dock equipment, conveyor systems, or warehouse racking is a plus.
- Background in industrial service or maintenance is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and documentation.
- Comfort working independently at customer sites and managing time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.

Work Environment
Work takes place primarily at warehouse facilities, with regular travel to customer sites to perform service work inside the warehouse. You work in an industrial environment around active material handling operations, using tools and equipment such as hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments. The role may involve standing for extended periods, working at heights or around loading docks, and navigating busy warehouse areas while adhering to all safety and protective equipment requirements.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Plain City, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $52000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
