Job Description
The Certified Flagger is responsible for maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow throughout an active construction site. This role directs vehicle and equipment movement, serves as a spotter for concrete trucks and other site traffic, and supports overall site safety through signage placement and general site maintenance. Candidates must possess a current Flagger Certification and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities- Direct vehicle and equipment traffic in accordance with approved traffic control plans and site safety procedures.
- Serve as a spotter for concrete trucks and other heavy equipment operating throughout the job site.
- Maintain clear communication with drivers, equipment operators, and site personnel to ensure safe movement within work zones.
- Install, relocate, and maintain traffic control signs, barricades, cones, and other safety devices as required.
- Monitor site access points and traffic patterns to identify and address potential safety concerns.
- Assist with site cleanup and housekeeping activities to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Follow all traffic control regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses to supervision immediately.
- Perform additional site support duties as assigned.
- Current Flagger Certification required.
- Previous experience working on active construction sites.
- Ability to safely direct traffic around workers, equipment, and ongoing construction operations.
- Experience serving as a spotter for trucks, heavy equipment, or construction activities.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety practices.
- Excellent situational awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, operators, and site personnel.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods.
- OSHA 10 Certification.
- Experience with traffic control operations on commercial, industrial, or roadway construction projects.
- Lull, boom lift, or scissor lift certifications.
- Experience performing general labor or construction site support duties.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based on an active construction site with frequent vehicle traffic, heavy equipment operation, and changing site conditions. Employees typically work 10-12 hour shifts, up to six days per week depending on project needs. The role requires working outdoors, standing for extended periods, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Lebanon, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
