We are seeking dependable Solar Construction Laborers / Mechanical Installers to support the construction of a large-scale utility solar project. Team members will assist with material handling, pile installation, racking assembly, and solar module installation while working alongside experienced crews in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment. This role is ideal for individuals with construction, mechanical assembly, general labor, or solar installation experience who are committed to safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities
  • Support solar construction activities as part of a Pile Install, Racking Install, or Module Install crew.
  • Unload, stage, organize, and transport materials throughout the project site.
  • Assist with pile installation, racking assembly, and solar module installation.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, secure, and install project components.
  • Measure and verify installations to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications.
  • Follow site layouts, installation drawings, and supervisor instructions.
  • Assist with trenching, backfilling, material inventory, site maintenance, and cleanup activities as needed.
  • Work safely around heavy equipment, operators, and active construction operations.
  • Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of construction, general labor, mechanical assembly, or related experience.
  • Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to walk extended distances and work on uneven terrain.
  • Ability to follow instructions, project layouts, and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous solar construction or solar installation experience.
  • Experience with pile installation, racking assembly, or module installation.
  • Familiarity with utility-scale solar projects.
  • Experience with trenching, backfilling, cable pulling, or underground utility work.
  • OSHA 10 certification.

Work Environment

This position is performed outdoors on a large-scale solar construction project. Employees will work in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain throughout the day. The role involves frequent walking, repetitive lifting, use of hand and power tools, and collaboration with construction crews and heavy equipment operators in a safety-focused environment.

Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the workday.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Walk extended distances across a large construction site.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
