Production Operator - Weekend Shift
Job Description
This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining production machinery used in a modern manufacturing environment. You will be trained to operate equipment, perform quality checks, and accurately record production data while working both independently and as part of a team. No prior machine operating experience is required, and full training is provided.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Work both individually and as part of a team to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Monitor machines during operation to ensure products consistently meet quality requirements.
- Conduct regular in-process inspections to maintain high quality control standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and make necessary adjustments to keep the production process running smoothly.
- Record production data, including output numbers, machine settings, and product quality information.
- Maintain a standard level of productivity and quality output while demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Follow all safety protocols and correctly use personal protective equipment (PPE) to support a safe work environment.
- Comply with cross‑training and other training requirements to build versatility across production tasks.
- Use a computer and ERP system to enter production activities and related information.
- Ability to speak and read English effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret gauges and accurately record measurements.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), operating and maintenance instructions, and relevant manuals.
- Ability to stand for an 8–10‑hour shift on a regular basis.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management capabilities.
- Basic ability to use a computer for simple ERP system data entry.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery.
- Willingness to follow established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Prior production or machine operation experience preferred but not required.
- Comfort performing visual and measurement‑based inspections.
- Interest in learning machine setup and operation in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and support cross‑training initiatives.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a very clean and modern manufacturing facility producing advanced power transmission line products that are lighter, stronger, and more environmentally resilient than traditional lines. The position is on a dedicated weekend shift, with available schedules of 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday or 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. Friday through Sunday. Work is performed on the production floor around operating machinery, with regular standing for 8–10 hours and lifting up to 25 pounds. Employees use PPE and follow established safety protocols, and utilize computers for simple ERP system data entry as part of daily activities.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntington Beach, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
