The Electro-Mechanical Assembler Technician is responsible for manufacturing high-quality electro-mechanical and video camera medical products in accordance with work orders, procedures, and quality standards. This role involves precision assembly of intricate optical, electrical, and mechanical components, accurate documentation, and consistent adherence to regulatory, safety, and electrostatic discharge control requirements within a medical device manufacturing environment. The technician works closely with cross-functional teams, supports multiple production lines, and contributes to continuous improvement through clear communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture electro-mechanical and video camera medical products according to work orders, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Follow established work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and all applicable quality requirements.
  • Inspect own work and, when required, the work of others to ensure compliance with product and regulatory standards.
  • Perform daily workstation cleaning and initiate Area Clearance to maintain material traceability and a controlled work area.
  • Assemble intricate optical, electrical, and mechanical components, including circuit boards, electronic components, cables, wire harnesses, product labels, optical elements, mechanical fasteners, and adhesives.
  • Conduct optical cleaning, mounting, and alignment to meet precise performance and quality specifications.
  • Make fitting and adjustment decisions within established guidelines to ensure products meet defined specifications.
  • Verify correct materials against Work Orders, Device History Records (DHRs), and Travelers before and during assembly.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately, following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Perform preventive maintenance on departmental equipment in accordance with scheduled preventive maintenance plans, as required.
  • Work across multiple process steps or production lines, reprioritizing tasks as needed to support production demands.
  • Access and follow packaging instructions and work instructions from product lifecycle management (PLM) and document management systems.
  • Participate in required company training related to products, processes, safety, and compliance.
  • Maintain and follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control procedures to protect sensitive electronic components.
  • Support research and development (R&D) and verification and validation (V&V) assignments that require judgment, collaboration, and problem-solving.
  • Record data and information clearly and accurately in accordance with procedural and documentation requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership regarding ideas, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to a cross-trained, flexible production environment by supporting multiple workstations or product lines as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Strong manual dexterity for precision electro-mechanical assembly of small and intricate components.
  • Ability to assemble and work with electrical and electronic components, including circuit boards and electronic assemblies.
  • Experience with cables, wire harness assembly, and installation of product labels.
  • Ability to perform optical cleaning, mounting, and alignment with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Comfort using hand tools and working with mechanical fasteners and adhesives in an assembly environment.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions, SOPs, and quality requirements consistently.
  • Attention to detail with a strong focus on product quality, traceability, and compliance.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for documenting work and collaborating with team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Capability to work in a cross-trained, flexible environment across multiple workstations or product lines.
  • Ability to maintain and follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control procedures.
  • Skill in recording data clearly and accurately in line with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Familiarity with medical device manufacturing processes and quality standards is beneficial.
  • Experience working within regulated environments that require strict documentation and traceability is an advantage.
  • Comfort accessing and following instructions from product lifecycle management (PLM) and document management systems.
  • Ability to support R&D and V&V activities through collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Strong teamwork orientation and willingness to share ideas for process and quality improvements.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Goleta, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48000.00 - $65000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
